Sacraments

The special Sacraments are an opportunity for our children, family, school and church to come together in celebration of our faith. Parents are asked to take children to mass and show a living example of faith.

First Holy Communion

In St. Gabriel’s, Year 3 children receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The teachers help to deepen the children’s understanding of their faith, while parish members prepare the church for the special event and also support children through prayers.

Sacrament of Confirmation

In Year 6, pupils receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The date is confirmed by the office of the Archbishop during the academic year that the ceremony is due to take place. The children begin their preparation with a Mass of Enrolment and also participate in a Service of Light before celebrating their Confirmation in the Summer Term.
