At St Gabriel’s, we understand the importance of our children having the opportunity to take on different roles and responsibilities within our school community. Across the school we organise different teams, groups and roles to give children a chance to live out our Mission of ‘Praying, Caring and Learning together with Jesus Christ at the heart of our loving Catholic community.’
School Council
Our School Council meet on a regular basis to discuss important issues effecting our school community and to look for ways that we can ensure that all members of the community, and especially our children, have a chance to make their own personal and positive impact.
Pupil Teams
Our Ministers of Faith help to lead many aspects of our Catholic Life and Mission – they support in monitoring our Prayer Areas, plan and lead celebrations connected to the seasons of the Church and work closely with our School Governors!
Every week, each of our classes chooses two new Live Simply Ambassadors! The Ambassadors have the special task of encouraging their class mates to Live Simply, Sustainably and in Solidarity for that week!
Our Y6 Playground Helpers play a very active role at lunchtimes! They help in the Dinner Hall, lead games on the Playground and act as role models to our younger children.
Our Sports Leaders help to promote the value and importance of living active lifestyles! They support at Sports Day, assist with our WOW Active sessions and help to take care of our PE equipment!
Each half term one of our Year Groups has the responsibility of being our Eco Stewards. The Eco Stewards project this year is developing our St Francis of Assisi inspired ‘Wild Area.’
The Liturgy Team play an important role in supporting our School Masses and other Liturgies – making sure that we have all our resources and technology ready!
