Year 2 is a significant and exciting stage in your child’s primary school journey. As the final year of Key Stage 1, it is a time when children deepen the skills they have been developing and begin to use them with growing confidence and independence. They build fluency in reading, develop stronger writing skills and tackle more complex mathematical ideas, all while continuing to explore the wider curriculum through engaging, meaningful learning experiences.

We place great importance on nurturing resilience, curiosity and a positive attitude towards learning. Year 2 helps children strengthen the foundations they need as they prepare to move into Key Stage 2, and we support them every step of the way with encouragement, structure and care.
