Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime, and you can save yourself time and money. Even if you don't want your children to have the meals, claiming them helps their school. The more eligible parents who claim meals, the more funding the school receives for PUPIL PREMIUM.
In England, children at key stages 1-4 in state-funded schools are entitled to receive Free School Meals if their parents or carers are in receipt of any of the following benefits:

b.Specific training for identified LSAs to support 2 early intervention programmes (£18,650) “Every child counts” and “FFT Reading”
c.Significant contribution to the salary of School Liaison & Support Officer (£16,300) and her ever widening role within school to meet need.
d.Resources for new intervention strategies (£4,360)
Reserve of £7,280 to be spent on:-
a.Funding resources for teaching and learning
b.Funding for trips, visits and residential experiences
